Base clamp screws tight to grip the socket (note, the clamp is large to accommodate different size sockets, so for many sockets the clamp will not be extremely tight on the socket. This can be remedied by compressing the clamp more to give it a tighter fit, but in general, when using these cages on our vintage style sockets, it will more be for show and not a true protector of the bulb.)
