Victorian Ruched Puckered Gray Silk Lace Trim Balloon Sleeve Bodice Skirt 2pc Dress
This antique Victorian era ruched puckered gray silk lace trim balloon sleeve bodice, skirt two piece dress dates from 1890. It is made of a light gray color silk fabric with a ruched puckered gathering detail done around the yoke, with a cream color net lace ruffle flounce trim edging the neckline collar and sleeve cuffs. This gorgeous gray gown two piece dress has a fitted bodice top with large full billowing balloon puffed sleeves, lace ruffle cuffs, a lace trimmed high neck collar, wide lace ruffle flounce, hook closures down the back and is fully lined in a brown cotton fabric with stays, boning sewn inside. The top measures 16 inches long, with a 30 inch chest, 22 inch waist, 11 inch back and 19 inch long sleeves. There is a matching fabric long full skirt with decorative stitching around the fitted waistband, hook closures on the back and is fully lined with a brown cotton fabric petticoat, gray silk hemline sewn underneath. The skirt measures 36 inches long, with a 22 inch waist and 60 inch hips. It is in good as-is condition, with faint underarm discoloration and some water stains on the bottom skirt hemline (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful antique Victoriana piece of wearable art!
